GPOD on the Road: Darts Hill Garden Park

Cherry Ong is taking us on one other journey, in the present day to a gorgeous public backyard in Surrey, British Columbia. She says: “I used to be wanting ahead to visiting Darts Hill Garden Park to see the spring ephemera and the alpine backyard. I received my want in the present day!”

Darts Hill was the house and backyard of Edwin and Francisca Darts, and so they donated it to the city in 1994 so now everyone seems to be welcome to go to and benefit from the stunning backyard.

These are the steps to the primary home, and it is completely stunning!

mass planting of pink lilies on a hillsideI gasped on the sight of those pink lilies (Erythronium revoltum, Zones 6–8). As I perceive it, it is a giant naturalized colony that covers the slope and far of Mattress 9. It was such a beloved sight that Mrs. Darts had the trail tied up each spring to permit them to bloom undisturbed.
